About Smart Power System LaB

Our laboratory has been and will be dedicated to develop efficient, reliable, and secure supply of electrical energy systems, which is the key to sustaining modern societies and improving our quality of life.

The generation of electric energy is facing new challenges due to factors such as increasing demand, stringent requirements on power quality, uncertainty in load variation and growth, increasing public concern, regulation regarding environmental issues, increasing renewable generations, and the aging of existing facilities.

The goals of our lab is to create solutions to complex and diverse problems facing the electric power industry. Our lab is researching issues such as how to advance power system analyses, how to operate a power system reliably and securely, and how to develop the necessary tools, models, and methods for a future advanced electric power system. Our lab is especially interested in power system dynamics and stability issues.

Notice

We are currently looking for NEW graduate students interested in electric power systems. Various research opportunities about technical issues and solutions in the Korean power systems in collaboration with KEPCO (Korean Electric Power Corporation, 한국전력공사) and KPX (Korean Power Exchange, 전력거래소) will be provided.
